1. Agreement and scope
By visiting or using Typekute, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. In these Terms, “Typekute,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of this website. “Service” means this website and its lessons, Practices, games, typing tests, progress features, public leaderboard, and related content.
If you use the Service for an organisation, school, or other group, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms on that group’s behalf. These Terms apply to your use of the current Service; a separately offered feature may have additional terms shown with that feature.
2. What the Service provides
Typekute provides browser-based activities designed to help people practise typing. The Service may include lessons, practice activities, games, custom typing material, progress views, typing tests, and a public leaderboard. Features, lessons, languages, and content can change as the Service is maintained and improved.
A speed, accuracy, score, completion marker, recommendation, rank, or other result is an estimate based on the activity and settings shown. It is not a certification, assessment of employment or school readiness, medical advice, or a promise of a particular skill level, school result, or work outcome.
3. Access, availability, and your device
You are responsible for your device, browser, internet connection, and any costs of accessing the Service. Access may be interrupted by maintenance, network conditions, software changes, technical problems, or issues with your device or browser. We may add, update, pause, or remove features or content when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, or improve the Service.
Typekute is not an account-based service at this time. Some features save progress, preferences, and practice records in storage provided by your browser on your device. This information may not follow you to another browser or device and may be lost if browser data is cleared, private browsing is used, storage is unavailable, or your browser removes stored data. Where export is available, keep any backup somewhere you control.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Typekute for personal learning, classroom learning, and other lawful purposes consistent with these Terms. You must not use the Service in a way that harms other people, minors, the Service, or another person’s rights.
In particular, you must not:
- use bots, scripts, macros, artificial input, cheats, or other automation to create, alter, or submit typing results presented as human performance;
- fabricate scores, manipulate identifiers, impersonate another person, or use a display name containing private information, unlawful content, or material that is abusive, threatening, or infringing;
- bypass, disable, probe, or interfere with security controls, rate limits, access controls, or the normal operation of the Service;
- scrape, bulk-download, extract, or republish Service content or leaderboard data except through a published interface we expressly allow;
- introduce malware, overload the Service, attempt unauthorised access, or disrupt another person’s use; or
- copy, redistribute, adapt, or commercially exploit Service content except where law allows or you have permission from the relevant rights holder.
5. Public Quick Test leaderboard
When the public leaderboard is available, an eligible completed official Quick Test can automatically submit a result for ranking. A qualifying entry can show a player identifier, display name, rank, speed, accuracy, score, duration, and result time publicly. The default display name is Anonymous; any name you choose is public alongside eligible results. Use a nickname and do not include your real name, contact details, school information, or another person’s information.
The leaderboard is a feature for fair, human typing results. We may reject, hide, or remove entries, restrict access to the leaderboard, or take other reasonable steps where we believe an entry breaches these Terms, undermines fair rankings, creates a security risk, or exposes personal information. A leaderboard rank has no cash value, prize, employment consequence, or other guaranteed benefit. Our Privacy Policy explains what is submitted, displayed, and retained.
6. Your material and feedback
Some features let you enter or save custom typing material in your browser. You are responsible for that material and confirm that you have the rights needed to use it. Do not enter material that is unlawful, confidential, or infringes someone else’s rights. Typekute does not claim ownership of custom material that remains in your browser; see the Privacy Policy for how local storage works.
If you send feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or ideas to Typekute, you allow us to use them without compensation or an obligation to keep them confidential. Please do not send passwords, private leaderboard tokens, or other sensitive information in feedback or email.
7. Typekute content and third-party material
Typekute’s interface, software, lessons, practice materials, designs, names, and other site content may be protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, revocable permission to access and use the Service for its intended learning purpose. This permission does not transfer ownership or grant rights beyond those expressly stated here.
Practice material, linked research, social platforms, fonts, and other resources may be supplied or made available by third parties. Their rights remain with their respective owners. Third-party websites and services operate under their own terms and privacy policies; visiting or using them is your choice.
8. Suspension and removal
We may limit or suspend access to all or part of the Service when reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misuse, protect people or systems, comply with law, or maintain the Service. We may preserve information needed to investigate abuse, resolve disputes, protect the Service, or meet legal obligations. Where possible and appropriate, we will explain the reason for a restriction.
9. No warranties
The Service is provided “as available.” To the extent allowed by applicable law, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, secure, uninterrupted, compatible with every device, suitable for every purpose, or that any practice will produce a particular result. You choose how to use the learning materials and are responsible for decisions you make based on your results.
10. Limits of responsibility
To the extent allowed by applicable law, Typekute is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service; reliance on a result; a third-party website; loss of local browser data; or an interruption outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or responsibility that cannot legally be limited.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service, its features, or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will appear on this page. If a change is material, we will provide any notice required by applicable law. Continuing to use Typekute after an updated version is posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Other legal terms
If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the agreement about use of the current Service, except for any additional terms presented for a particular feature.
13. Contact
Questions, reports of misuse, or concerns about these Terms can be sent to [email protected].
